August 2020 You may be asking “Can I really love life even given the givens?” Sure! There’s no time like the eternal now to live and love life.
No doubt, this pandemic leaves us in a state of uncertainty. Our world has been turned upside down and our attention is drawn to the immediacy of staying safe. Not to mention our daily routines and chores always crowding us for our time and attention? Yet I’m learning that if we continue doing what we’ve always done how can life possibly change?
“How can I love life with laser focus given the givens of our reality today?” you ask. Easy. Pay attention to a different kind of attention.
What are you focusing on?
We have been giving attention to actions such as: “don’t get too close,” “don’t touch your face,” “don’t do anything without first washing your hands.” How can any of us possibly live life fully if we focus only on the “don’ts” being presented at every turn? We can’t. Which is a manifestation of the limitations being given me to stay safe.
Let me share a quote with you by George Washington Carver – “Start where you are with what you have. Make something of it and never be satisfied.” Words to live by these days. Sure the virus is real and it is limiting our ability to live life as we had in the recent past; but who I am within myself is infinite and boundless. So I encourage you to begin living life today from that expansive place within. Know that you are fully equipped by the Giver of Life with everything you need to begin to live life even more fully than you ever have before. Even now in this very moment.
Change your focus
Our world is always changing and challenging us anyways, the degree by which we are challenged of course varies, but more or less the same – always. There is a basic truth that what we focus on expands. I am constantly teaching my clients that we can only focus on one thing at a time. Recent studies even show that when we multitask brain function actually diminishes. We may not control what enters our thoughts but we can certainly decide how long we entertain them. Choose to focus on the goodness that also exists during these challenging time.
The Law of Attraction
Those of you familiar with the law of attraction know that what we experience ‘vibrationally’ in our thoughts and feelings will bring more of the same into our life experience. And if you’re new to this concept suffice it to repeat the common nomenclature: “like attracts like,” or “birds of a feather flock together,” or “misery loves company.” Familiar sayings which teach us that our current life is a reflection of the predominant thoughts and feelings we hold. Rhonda Byrne’s book The Secret, published in 2006, was a global phenomenon introducing The Law of Attraction to the world. I’ve been teaching the principles since 2004 after discovering the concept in Lyn Grabhorn’s book Excuse Me Your Life is Waiting. So trust me when I tell you to spend time with positive, fun loving, life supporting people – always – or at the very least, as much as is possible.
Free to Choose
This is why I avoid negative folks, or people who are chronically sad and depressed about life. Believe it or not, at a certain level, it comes down to choices we make and don’t make. Sure we can find reasons for sadness and depression. And yes, a biochemical change may be the reason for my depression. But in today’s day and age we have counseling, medications, behavioral therapists and more to help us cope with these challenges. And being happy can be a choice. A simple synaptic change in my brain can flip my switch towards happiness.
So surround yourself with people who make life light and easy, and you be their light if you can.
Create a Crystal Clear Vision
You can’t build a house without blueprints for what you’d like. A master builder will push you to say clearly how many bedrooms and bathrooms you’d like. What will the great room look like? Will it be open concept? Will your kitchen be well appointed with all the latest technologies and materials? You get my point.
Begin the process of writing down on a piece of paper what you would like in every area of your life and it then becomes real in the material world, albeit on a piece of paper, but real nonetheless. Your focus changes and the vibrational frequencies for manifestation are unleashed with your permission. I am always teaching that life is a co-creative reality. Life happens in you and through you. We live life either by intention or we live it by default – seducing, manipulating, or settling for whatever shows up. Continue to journey with me and I will show you the fastest way to get where you want to go.
